Taxco & the Cacahuamilpa Caves
Add a day to the trip. Three hours south, Taxco is a white silver town stacked up a mountainside — cobblestone streets, VW Beetle taxis, silver workshops. Beside it sits one of the largest cave systems on earth, with chambers over 250 feet high that you walk straight through. It's a long way each direction, so we run it as an overnight: down on a weekday, a night in Taxco, back the next afternoon.
